Worship at Temple David

Temple David invites you to attend and participate in our regular and festival services.
Weekly services include Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday nights commencing 6.30pm, and Shabbat Shaharit and Torah service on Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 12.15pm. Services are lead by our experienced lay-leaders.
Jewish festivals thoughout the year are honoured and celebrated with a combination of services and special events. These include a communal Second Night Seder at Pesach, services and social events in the Sukkah at Sukkot, full choral services at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, dancing with our Torahs at Simchat Torah, and so forth. The upcoming events can be found on the calendar to the right of this information.

Prayer book
Our congregation has recently started to use the new World Union edition of Mishkan T'Filah, a prayer book developed in North America but adapted for use in the Southern hemisphere. A key feature of this siddur (prayerbook) is the extensive use of transliteration, allowing even those who do not read Hebrew text to be able to participate fully in the prayers.
Onegim
We hold occasional "pot luck" or "bring and share" Onegim (Community Meals) after the Shabbat evening services, offering you a chance to socialise and meet other congregants, and to join in with Israeli dancing after the meal.
Information for visitors
While visitors are always welcomed, due to the ever increasing security risks faced by synagogues all over the world, we request that you inform the Temple office beforehand if you wish to attend any service, and that you bring ID with you.
Spare Tallit and Kippot are always available for guests from other congregations.
Life Cycle Events

Temple David provides its members with the full range of Life Cycle events - from cradle to grave, from baby naming/baby blessings and Brit Milah through Bar/Bat Mitzvah to Chuppa to funerals or cremations. We also provide educational and social opportunities for people who wish to convert to Judaism.
Seniors
For the wise in years and young at heart, Temple David has something for everyone. Whether it's the social get togethers, musical interludes or the informative talks there's bound to be something of interest.

Netzer Youth

Netzer (Noar Tzioni Reformi) is the Progressive Zionist Youth Movement. We are an international organization with branches (sniffim) in over 15 different countries, and our headquarters are in Jerusalem. Our ideology is based on Progressive Judaism, Reform Zionism and Tikkun Olam (social action to ‘repair the world’).
In Australia we have branches in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, as well as Perth. We hold regular meetings and Hadracha (leadership) training for high school students, as well as offering our youth access to Netzer camps (held in Sydney and Melbourne) in the summer and the winter. We also encourage our older teens to consider living for a year in Israel on "Shnat".
For more information about upcoming Netzer events in Perth, contact the Temple David Office.
